The Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver is staffed with some of the finest instructors in our brotherhood. They are men of integrity, experience, and high academic standing.
Dennis Petrillo, Ph.D. – President/Instructor
Holds a B.A. in Bible (Harding University), M.A. in New Testament (Harding Graduate School of Religion), and a Ph.D. in Religious Adult Education (University of Nebraska). He has been a preacher, author and Christian College teacher.
J. Michael Hite – Vice President of Operations
20+ years of business management and operations experience. Former Marketing Communications professional. Holds a B.A. in Biblical Studies. Preaches, teaches and does short-term foreign mission work.
Wayne Burger - Campaign Coordinator/Instructor
Holds a B.A. in Bible from Abilene Christian University; M.B.S. from the Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver. Has published four books and is a regular writer for the Rocky Mountain Christian. Has preached for the last thirty years.
Dave Chamberlin – Dean of Students/Instructor
Holds B.S. (University of Phoenix) and a M.B.S. (Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver). Former missionary in New Zealand. Preacher in North Dakota and Colorado. Instructor at Bear Valley since 1977.
Gary Fallis - Extension Instructor
Gary has studied at Lubbock Christian College, is a graduate of the Sunset International Bible Institute and holds the M.S. and M.Div. degrees from Abilene Christian University. Gary has preached the gospel for 35 years. For 15 years he served as the Administrator, Dean and instructor at the Brown Trail School of Preaching in Bedford, Texas.
David Hamrick – Director of Extension Centers/Instructor
Graduate of the Brown Trail School of Preaching; holds a B.A. in Bible from Freed-Hardeman University and a Master of Arts in Religion from David Lipscomb University.
Mark Hanstein – Academic Dean/Instructor
Holds a B.A. in Bible from Oklahoma Christian University; M.A.T.S. (Master of Arts in Theological Studies) from Austin Graduate School of Theology. Preacher and teacher for over 25 years.
Denton Landon, Jr. - Extension Instructor
Holds B.A. in Religion (Southern Christian University); M.A. in Theology (Cincinnati Bible Seminary); M.Div. (Houston Graduate School of Theology). Has served as missionary in Africa, preacher, teacher and author.
Pat McIntosh - Assistant Director of Extension Centers/Instructor
Graduated from Brown Trail School of Preaching in 1989. Holds a B.A. from Southern Christian University, M.S., M.Div. and D.Min. from Southern Christian. Presently a Doctoral candidate at Southern Christian University.
Neal Pollard - Adjunct Instructor
Attended Faulkner Univ. (B.A., Bible), Freed-Hardeman Univ., and BVBID (M.B.S.). Has been in full-time ministry since 1992, serving churches in Alabama, Virginia, and as pulpit minister of the Bear Valley church of Christ since 2006. Preached in meetings, seminars, lectureships in 20 states and 3 foreign countries. Teacher in BV foreign Extensions.
Bill Stewart - Director of Development/ Instructor
Holds a B.B.S. and M.B.S. (Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver). Preacher and Elder for 22 years with church in Council Bluff, Iowa. Conducts meeting and workshops.
Wayne Nelson - Assistant Director of Development
Holds a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Bear Valley, was a broadcast engineer for 23 years and has served in the U.S. Navy. He currently serves as a deacon for the Bear Valley congregation.
Warren Wilcox - Dean of Alumni Relations/Instructor
Holds BA and MA in Bible (Abilene Christian University). Instructor at BV since 1966. Conducts seminars and teachers’ workshops all over the U.S. and Canada.
Wayne Roberts - Adjunct Instructor
He holds a Bachelor of Biblical Studies degree from the Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver and has done undergraduate work at Oklahoma Christian University and the Kansas City School of Biblical Studies. He is currently enrolled in the BVBID Master’s Degree program.
MASTERS INSTRUCTORS
Will Hanstein, M.A.
Will Hanstein holds a B.A. in Bible and an M.A. in New Testament from Freed-Hardeman University. Hanstein has worked with congregations in Tennessee, Texas, and Colorado. He has done mission work in the South Pacific, Russia, and various parts of the United States. He is the Dean of Graduate Studies for the Bear Valley Bible Institute in Denver, CO, where he has been since 2004, and is the editor of the Entrusted Word. Hanstein and his wife Jeni reside in Denver, CO.
Earl Edwards, D. Miss.
Earl Edwards holds a B.A. from David Lipscomb University, an M.Th. from Harding Graduate School in Memphis and a D.Miss. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Edwards was a missionary in Italy for 16 years and also served as director of the Florence Bible School. He has worked with various stateside congregations in Kansas, Arkansas, and Tennessee. He is Director of Graduate Studies for Freed-Hardeman University and an elder and evangelist for the Finger church of Christ in Finger, TN. Edwards and his wife Lora reside in Henderson, TN.
Jerry Martin, Ph.D.
Jerry Martin holds a B.A. in Bible and an M.S. in Counseling from Southern Christian University. He is working toward his Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern Christian. Martin has worked with congregations in Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama, Colorado, and Tennessee. He is the pulpit minister for the Cordova church of Christ in Cordova, TN, an instructor at the Memphis School of Preaching, and a counselor in the Memphis area. Martin and his wife Denise reside in Cordova, TN.
Pat McIntosh, D. Min.
Pat McIntosh holds a B.A., an M.S., an M.Div., and a D.Min. from Southern Christian University. He is working on his Ph.D. from the same institution. McIntosh has worked with various congregations in Texas. He is the Assistant Director of Extension Schools for the Bear Valley Bible Institute and is based in Cleburne, TX, where he and his wife Cheryl reside.
Stafford North, Ph.D.
Stafford North holds a B.A. in Speech from Abilene Christian, an M.A. in Speech from Louisiana State, and a Ph.D. in Speech from the University of Florida. North has worked with congregations in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Florida. He is best known for his work at Oklahoma Christian University, where he has served since 1952. North has served there as a Bible teacher and also as an administrator, including twenty years as Executive Vice President. He is one of the elders at the Memorial Road church of Christ in Oklahoma City. North and his wife Jo Anne reside in Edmond, OK.
Dan Owen, Ph.D.
Dan Owen holds a B.A. in Bible and Biblical languages from Oklahoma Christian University, an M.A. in Greek New Testament from Harding Graduate School of Religion, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum, Instruction, and Program Evaluation from Southern Illinois University. Owen has worked with congregations in Mississippi, Texas, and Kentucky. He also taught for six years at the Bear Valley Bible Institute and served as Academic Dean. He has been the pulpit minister for the Broadway church of Christ in Paducah, KY, since 1987. He and his wife Cindy reside in Paducah.
Denny Petrillo, Ph.D.
Denny Petrillo holds a B.A. from Harding University, an M.A. from Harding Graduate School of Religion, and a Ph.D. in Religious Adult Education from the University of Nebraska. Petrillo has worked with congregations in Mississippi and Colorado, and was an instructor at York College. He is the President of the Bear Valley Bible Institute in Denver, CO, where he has been an instructor since 1984. Petrillo and his wife Kathy reside in Littleton, CO.
Mike Rogers, M.A.
Mike Rogers holds a B.S. in Biblical Studies and an M.A in New Testament from Freed-Hardeman University. Rogers has worked with congregations in Kentucky and Tennessee. He is the pulpit minister for the Covington church of Christ in Covington, TN, where he and his wife Bonita reside.
Bart Warren, M.A.
Bart Warren holds a B.S. in Accounting from Oklahoma Christian University and an M.A. in New Testament from Freed-Hardeman University. He will complete an M.Div. from Freed-Hardeman in June 2008. Warren is currently the pulpit minister for the Antioch church of Christ in Ramer, TN and the associate editor of the Entrusted Word. He and his wife Laura reside in Ramer, TN.
William Woodson, Ph.D.
William Woodson holds an A.A. from Freed-Hardeman University, a B.A. from Union University, an M.A. from Harding Graduate School of Religion, and an M.Th. and Ph.D. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Woodson has worked with congregations in Tennessee and Mississippi. He retired from local work in 1996. He conducts gospel meetings, special studies, preacher training, and eldership training workshops. Woodson and his wife Jeanne reside in Lawrenceburg, TN.
